On Saturday night my friends Fraser and Kate hosted a murder mystery party and made us a four course meal. It was set in 1912 and I had to dress as a slutty nun.

Half a day's work in a primary school in Bolton. Worked with Kellogg the corn snake (the orange one) for the first time. He was really lively, unlike Pudding the python who's completely nonplussed by everything.

Members of the uni Amnesty International group organised a 'die in' to raise awareness and get signatures on a petition calling for an arms embargo to both Israel and Palestine. That's my chalk outline on the bottom right.

Met my parents (and dog) and went up to check on their caravan. It was a miserable day and the place is all being ripped up.

A horse walked past my boat and Everton drew 1-1 with Liverpool.

Went shopping in Kendal on Saturday then went for a little drive to see the snow on the hills. Crap photo, I need to start using my real camera.

I ordering this merino roving from a fellow Raveller on Folksy.com. It's beautiful. Just waiting for my drop spindle to come from ebay and then I'll start learning to spin.

Driving home on the motorway from my parents, I put my wipers on and there was a bit of paper stuck under one of the blades. Luckily it wasn't raining much.

When I got out this is what I found. I think it's sad that there's people with obvious mental problems, but I wish they'd stay the HELL AWAY FROM MY CAR.

Another uneventful day. Drove home to Liverpool to stay in my parents' house for the night.

Nearly forgot to take a picture on Tuesday so took a quick, boring snap on the bus home after many red wines with the Feminist Society.

Monday was possibly the best day ever. Got my Politics essay back, was expecting a really bad mark but got a 1st. Went to Garstang and bought yarn and talked to the woman in the yarn shop and an exiled scouse lady in the cafe. Then watched Everton hold Liverpool to a 1-1 draw in a bar that sold pints for a pound.

Life is so good right now.

Did very little on Sunday, besides seam up this hat and admire it.

Saturday was packed: antiwar protest in town, knitting group followed by gorgeous veggie meal, then a rainbow-themed night out. The idea was to have a different coloured drink in each bar, but there was no way I was drinking any alcopops or shots so I brought some food dye with me.

Last minute nip to the shops and I found these two frocks (definitely frocks, not dresses) for FIVE POUNDS EACH. Then put the left hand one on and got terribly drunk and danced.

Sorry if you wanted amazing pics of Edinburgh's beautiful landmarks. I took over 100 pics on my fancy-schmancy DSLR and I'm not happy with any of them. So instead I decided to make a record of what I do when I'm on dry land... fully exploit the heat, electricity, tv and broadband. The beer and pizza I do anyway.

On the train to Edinburgh. It was only snowy in the Lake District, once we crossed the border the snow was replaced by Authentic Scotch Mist(tm).

One of the reasons I decided to go to Scotland rather than abroad was that I could knit on the train. I'm halfway through an amazing 2-skein hat, and I forgot the second skein. I could have cried.

Slacking already, took this photo after midnight. The only time I left the house was to go to the chippy. Should have taken a photo of the Singapore Fried Rice, it was excellent.

Took the dog for a walk to try and shake off the hangover. She likes to hold hands.

Poker night. Our host, Jules normally makes pizza but he had a joint of beef leftover from Xmas so we ate it with our hands. Mmm.

Went shopping today in Liverpool. Not lived here constantly for the last four years, and it's changed so much - so many new buildings. The Liver Buildings, on the left, are still one of the most famous landmarks though. I've worked in there a couple of times, the offices have amazing views over the River Mersey.

I just finished knitting this hoodie today. The hood turned out too big, but I'm insanely proud of the seams, first time I ever did them.
